Memory Cleaner: Free Up RAM App Reviews

If you keep lots of sites in the dock

I usually have 30 0r 40 or more websites in my Dock. This eats all your RAM in a hour or two. The setting Often in Preferences wasn’t cutting it. I wrote to the developer and they added Very Often which does the clean every five minutes in ver 2.5. i advice getting the update. Very pleased with the app and the developer

GREAT!

Since I have instaled Memory Cleaner X, my Mac is running like brand new! It’s doing it’s job and i just forget about it. I maxed out my memory and all that did was take a little longer to fill it up. This was the best money I could have spent! Hey developers and programers… great job!! I HIGHLY recommend this app to anyone thinking of buying it. Don’t waste time on free ones that dont even work!

Not great on El Capitan 10.11.6

I have a mid 2010 13” macbookpro with 8gb ram. After installing this program it bogged down my computer and used up so much of my ram trying to run it that was counter productive.

Works seamlessly

Works in background and alerts when memory cleaned. Helpful app.

About 50% better than FreeMan

Been using FreeMan for a long time with acceptable results but have now deleted it as in my tests (on 2010 MacBook and 2015 MacMini) it finds about 50% more memory. Also finds unneeded files for deletion.

A bottle of cola for thirsty mac

Made my mac a bit faster, after 2 weeks without rebooting. Real stuff!

Works great!

Does a sublime job and I highly recommend this product!

Awesome!

My MacBook feels lot faster, and all those background process from bad programs or web browser that I am not using just hold until I want to see them again, makes my computer faster in what I am working.

Works!!

Frees up memory as advertised. I have 16G memory on my Mac Mini Server and run Windows with Parallels Desktop 7. Very often, I saw that memory usage was 100%. I have set this program to clear memory Often when my memory reaches 90%. I did notice that When it was cleaning memory, I was playing music on Pandora One and it paused playback for a few seconds - which indicates that it was working with active processes? But it did manage to free 5.75GB of memory. That is a huge WOW.

Hasnt worked since upgrade to Lion

This app briefly worked until I upgraded to Lion and now it doesnt even start any longer

Really Works!!!

Bought this based on its reviews and I needed to clean up some space, it did exactly what it claims. My Mac runs faster and smoother. Good app.

Works great!

Very simply to use and it works perfectly!! Unlike other similar apps, B&M do not freezes my mac even for a second. P.S. Dont forget to activate "Launch at system startup" in Preferences.

I like it

The app helps to free up memory without rebooting macbook. I like the possibility to free memory up whenever I want. Thanks!

Recommend

It seems to keep my Macbook pro from bogging down as much

FINALLY!

Thanks guys! I was a PC user once. Not by choice, but at my office desk I used to work on PC running windows. I used to count the many times a day that it would either crash or force me to go CRT/ALT/DEL….and then crash. On my mac - I hardly ever had that type of annoyance. Then..little by little I noticed my MacBook Pro slacking… delaying or taking to much time to process commands. WHATF? I realized I was running just about every application I have (including video production/hight-end graphics, etc) at the same time.. and so "force quit" became the answer for a while, but it was always tedious to have to chose what to run and what not to run…Then I found your BOOST & MEMORY. This little devil is like steroids for your mac! In a second, it can boost stability and allocate enough memory to run everything you got with speed and relialability. Big fan! Looking forward to any future products from this developers. Thanks guys!

Boost&Memory

Didnt do a thing for me. Maybe these positive reviews are planted. Save your $.

It works as advertised

This is a nice litle utility for freeing up memory, having it in the menu bar is much easier than opening the maintenance program I have that has a similar feature.

not working

It is not working at all. I want my money back. It worked the first day and after that never

Simple and helpful, but could use 10.10 clarification

There are several ways to manage and free up memory. Depending on your reasons for wanting to free up memory some ways are better than others. Using the Terminal along with Activity Monitor is, of course, the power user way (actually every OS X user should understand how to use the Terminal to some degree). Boost&Memory is a nice utility for freeing up RAM and I’ve been using it for several years. It’s also very useful for keeping an eye on your memory usage. The simple but effective menu bar icon shows your total RAM usage. If you find yourself needing to make room (you should know why you want to do this and not just clear out memory any and all times; the OS is managing it for you), Boost&Memory allows you to take a quick glance at the menu bar (which means it’s there in any window or space), and then click “Free up memory”. That’s it!. Simple and effective. It still works with 10.10 Yosemite, but maybe not perfectly. It’s now much quicker to use the Terminal, but I don’t know exactly what procedure Boost&Memory uses for purging memory, so it’s hard to tell if it’s still 100% compatible with 10.10. In 10.10 it’s much slower than it was in previous versions of OS X. Perhaps it has to do with the need for root permissions in 10.10. Regardless, the developer should either release a statement about this, or release an update. Still, I keep it installed as a memory meter. Yes, there are other ways to monitor your memory, but I like the simplicity of Boost&Memory.

Good!

This app really helped me! Thanks! & I would recommend this.
